One Day When I’m a Baller

I’m sure you are wondering about my title.  Let me explain, during college The Best friend (Girl) and myself used to say that when we wanted something or go somewhere that was out of our reach financially.  I’m not exactly a Baller but I get to pretend I am once in a while.  This past weekend it was one of my good friend Anna’s Birthday.  I decided to take her out to Graham Elliot here in Chicago.  If you do not know who Graham Elliot is, you might recognize him from television shows like MasterChef Season 1 and MasterChef Season 2.  He is the guy with glasses.

Let me just tell you, I wish I was a baller.  I would be able to eat there more often.  It was so good and I’m going  to reproduce some of the dishes.  We did the tasting menu which included 14 dishes.  We were there for a while and enjoyed every bit of it.  If you are ever in the area, I strongly recommend to go there.  It is a bit pricey but totally worth it for a special occasion.  Our favorite ones were actually in the beginning of the course.

Please excuse the pictures.  I took them with my phone.

The popcorn was so good.  It was covered in truffle butter and cheese.

The first picture is Wagyu tartar.  It was so pretty.  The next is the deconstructed Cesar Salad with a brioche Twinkie.

There was 2 fishes, one chicken, and a bison dish.

This is one of the desserts: basil ice cream with strawberries.

I’m already drooling from the pictures.  I can’t wait to go back.

  1. Lucky you! I'll have to try this restaurant. All the food looks wonderful, and I'm sure it tasted just as good as it looks.

  5. That is art on a plate. We had the pleasure of eating there last summer. And were excited to get a tour of the kitchen by Chef Elliott.

Enjoyed seeing your photos of the food.
